Boise YMCA, CM Company and Hosford Larson Architects
Job Description:
Miscellaneous architectural and nonstructural metal: stair systems, the entry canopy, fencing that surrounds the pool area, all exterior architectural lighting, running track railing and interior canopies.
Challenge:
This project involved much detail and complex design of the stair systems and railing. The challenge is always getting the job at a fair price, and then coordinating and planning so that things go smoothly and that the customer is happy and that we make a profit on the job.
Solution:
The coordination and planning really is an important part in working with the contractors and having them be a satisfied customer; its the planning work that we put into it, not merely the steel design itself or the fabrication process.
